By Mumbai Indians

The two teams walk into this game with commanding victories in their previous matches. While MI has found form in Delhi with a convincing win and will be raring to go, CSK has lost just a solitary game at the start of the tournament, have come back well and will not want to break that momentum.

Ahead of the sizzling encounter, below are some points to take note of:

MI openers in fine form

While Rohit has an average of 35.83, showing that he has given the team a good start in the games gone by, Quinton de Kock found his mojo in the last game against RR. He scored 70* and effortlessly took the team across the winning line.

CSK on a 5-match winning streak

The Super Kings started IPL 2021 off on a rather dull note, where DC posted a thumping 8-wicket win. After that, they have remained undefeated, with five wins on the trot and sit at the table-top position.

Impeccable death bowling from MI

Mumbai Indians have performed exceptionally at the death, containing runs and taking wickets at timely intervals. In the last game against KKR, the team gave away just 31 runs and took two big wickets of Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson. Bumrah and Boult have consistently been economical and have helped MI steal wins despite low targets.

MI have won 5 out of the last 6 games against CSK

The Men in Blue and Gold have won seven games out of the last 10 played against CSK, allowing them to win just one game in the previous six. This was the IPL 2020 opener, a season where MI would go on to win the cup a fifth time.

The two teams have faced each other 30 times in IPL, out of which MI has been on the winning side 18 times. Rohit Sharma has scored the most runs for MI against CSK, 658 runs in 28 games. Suresh Raina, who has played all of these 30 encounters, has the most for CSK - 722 runs.
