Sanskruti leads Jai Hind to title triumph in Pune

Pimpri's Jai Hind School lifted the crown in the Girls' U-16 category, beating Prodigy Public School by 30 runs in the Pune leg final of the Mumbai Indians Junior 2020 cricket tournament on Wednesday.

Sanskruti Badhe came up with an excellent all-round performance by scoring 36 runs and then taking a four-wicket haul to star in the final. Her steady knock in 53 balls helped Jai Hind post 141/5 in 25 overs. Namrata Kapse also chipped in with 22 runs.

Chasing a modest total, Prodigy batters were undone by Sanskruti's fine bowling display to falter in the chase and get bowled out for a nelson (111) in 20.3 overs.

The Bishop's School, Camp emerged the champions in the Boys U-16 category. They rode on Neel Gandhi's all-round show to beat Sheth Dagduram Katariya School by 102 runs.

Gandhi first struck unbeaten 76 to take his school to a challenging total of 186/8 in 40 overs. He then chipped in with two wickets as Bishop's bowlers ran through the Katariya batting line-up to skittle them out for 84 runs in 28.3 overs.
