Sheth Dagduram win Boys U-16 title in Pune

By Mumbai Indians

Sheth Dagduram Katariya School emerged champions in the Boys' U-16 category of the Mumbai Indians (MI) Junior 2020 cricket tournament. Sheth Dagduram thrashed Angel Mickey Minnie School by 110 runs in the final match on Thursday. With this final game, the Pune leg of the MI Junior tournament ended in style.

Krish Shahapurkar led the charge for Sheth Dagduram again with his all-round performance in the big match. He helped his school post a total of 181 all-out in 37.4 overs with his phenomenal knock of 60 runs off just 38 balls. Shivam Mane also excelled under pressure to contribute 45 runs and prove an ideal foil to his in-form batting partner Shahapurkar.

Shahapurkar had excelled in the semi-final as well with an unbeaten 62 and a wicket to his name. Earlier at the league stages, he had struck a blazing double ton and starred with an all-round show in another match with a ton and three-wicket haul.

Angel fancied their chances at the start of their chase but their hopes started disappearing soon due to Shahapurkar's brilliant bowling performance. He followed up his attacking batting display with an aggressive four-wicket haul with the ball.

The rival batsmen could never recover from Shahapurkar's big jolts and collapsed under persistent pressure created from other Sheth Dagduram bowlers as well. They were eventually bowled out for a paltry 71 in 17.1 overs.
