The India tour of England 2025 was arguably more than just a series… Banters, face-offs, stump-mic chatters, smiles, heroics and a little bit of cricket in between. 😉

Let’s recap 🔟 defining moments of what turned out to be one of the greatest bilateral series in recent cricketing history… 

Rishabh’s moment hai bhai moment hai

As many as seven centuries were registered in the curtain raiser at Headingley, with the batters enjoying the English Summer to their fullest.

But if there was one batter who truly shone, it was Rishabh Pant, who smashed twin tons to become the first Indian cricketer to achieve the feat!

While the bowlers endured a tough time in Leeds, Jassi came in & took a five-wicket haul to go level with the legendary Kapil Dev for most five-fers in overseas Tests by an Indian. Repeating this for the umpteenth time, THIS MAN IS SIMPLY BUILT DIFFERENT. 🤙

Shubman, riding high on confidence after scoring a century on his Test captaincy debut, took his aura to the next level to score 269 and 161, guiding his side to their first-ever triumph at Edgbaston in Tests.

Meanwhile, pacers Mohd. Siraj and Akash Deep dismantled the opposition batting unit, bagging 17 out of the 20 wickets between them. Shabash bhailog! 👏

In all fairness, 🇮🇳 had a real possibility of pocketing the W at Lord’s, if not for Siraj’s unfortunate dismissal off Shoaib Bashir. 😕 Hearts sank, time came to a standstill & that GOAT’ed tweet flashed right in front of our eyes.

But, but, picture abhi baaki hai mere dost!

PANT-astic heroism

The proceedings at Old Trafford were going just fine until Chris Woakes’ fiery delivery hit Rishabh Pant on the toe, which made every Indian go “OUCH”. He was immediately taken off the field thereafter.

However, he is RISHABH PANT, a guy who braved his return to cricket following the 2022 accident. 🙌 When the team needed his services the most, he didn’t think twice and hobbled his way to the middle and contributed with a valuable 54-run knock.

Jaddu-Washi ACT

The duo said, 'होऊन जाऊ दे,' when it came to facing a daunting task of batting for five sessions and saving the game in Manchester.

They were in no mood to shake hands which would indicate truce towards the end of Day 5, despite being poked by Ben Stokes and Co. 🔥 107*, 101* might have overshadowed Pant’s grit, but we’ll never forget the unsung hero’s efforts in keeping the series alive.

This five-episode series couldn't have asked for a better conclusion. Period. 🤌

Did we anticipate Nightwatchman Akash Deep’s excellent 66? No. Did we foresee England going from 1/92 to 247 all-out? Yes. Did we hope for a win after Brook-Root carnage? Maybe.

Just when the prospects looked grim, Siraj entered the scene. 🎥 After failing to nab Harry Brook while he was batting at 19, he completed a PERFECT REDEMPTION, ably supported by Prasidh Krishna.

As it’s said… NEVER WRITE INDIA OFF.
