Jason Behrendorff, the new-ball specialist, is back and ready to pick up where he left off at MI. He’s been around the scene for a while, having made his T20 debut in 2012. He grabbed 11 wickets in nine games in 2013-14. His 15-wicket haul in the following edition would win him the Domestic Player of the Year award. He also played a big role in the Perth Scorchers’ back-to-back BBL title wins.
All five of his IPL games have come in the 2019 season for us, starting off with a superb 2/22 against CSK. In 2021, CSK drafted him as a replacement player, and in 2022, he was part of the RCB squad but didn’t get a single game. Hence, Jason Behrendorff returned to don the Blue and Gold in 2023 (14 wickets in 12 games).
A fan favourite with Aamchi Mumbai, the 2023 Australian T20I Player of the Year is unfortunately set to miss the 2024 edition as he suffered a leg injury.
