Left-arm, pacy, ability to swing the ball, and a high-percent accuracy to break the opposition. Haven't we seen this before in the Blue and Gold?
Luke Wood is all set to debut his own rendition of this ‘classic’ style of bowling in the City of Dreams. A prized talent, the 5’10” speedster came through the ranks of Nottinghamshire, Worcestershire and Lancashire to carve a unique niche of his own in the domestic circuit.
But that’s not all. Wood’s exploits in T20 cricket - where he has close to 150 T20 wickets - include two successive T20 Blast Medals (in 2017 with Nottingham and Worcestershire in 2018).
Coming fresh off a successful stint at the PSL where he finished as Peshawar Zalmi’s leading wicket-taker, he is all pumped to set the pitch ablaze with his 140kph cannon balls at IPL 2024.
