Boulting around the MI Universe with typical swagger!

By Mumbai Indians

Paltan, it is time to shift gears for the next big test at Wankhede as Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 12, 2026. The stakes are high as we will look to garner two important points and move ahead on the points table. Let us all turn up in large numbers, bring in the added noise and energy and light up our fortress in Blue and Gold threads. In the lead up to the contest, our swing king Trent Boult featured on MI Charcha engaging in a free flow chat, sharing measured thoughts, valuable perspectives and razor-sharp insights that hit all the right notes. 💥💙

Walking down memory lane, Trent reflected on his long IPL journey of 11 years that started way back in the year 2015. “Very proud to have the opportunity to feature in this prestigious competition. It is the ultimate franchise tournament in the world. Everyone knows the quality and challenge that it brings for a Kiwi left arm bowler. I have counted myself very fortunate that I get to play here,” he said.

Last season having picked 22 wickets for MI, and with the new trend of T20 cricket where every batter is just looking to attack. As a new ball bowler, having the toughest job in the powerplay, Boulty spoke about how he approaches games. “Yes, it is a challenge. It is a role I have become comfortable with over the years. I like to see the ball moving around and swinging. Conditions change all around in the country and some good batting wickets are produced. It is a great feeling sticking to plans, executing them and trying to get the better of batters on field,” he said.

Trent also features across all Mumbai Indians franchisees. He shared his thoughts on what it means to represent the MI logo all over the world, “It is an honour to feature across all teams and represent Mumbai Indians, MI Cape Town, MI Emirates, MI New York and MI London. It is a different world and I would not have predicted this (representing all five franchisees) five years ago. It is an opportunity that I have tried to grab with both hands, give my best, try my hardest whenever I am on field.”

Swing in the air 🌀, fire in his heart 🔥…because when our Boulty has the new ball in hand, it is just not an over, it is a statement waiting to be made.
