Shikhar Dhawan scores a fifty
After a lean patch with the bat, Shikhar Dhawan stepped up with a spectacular fifty before getting out. Dropped early in the innings, he made full use of the opportunity by unleashing himself against the Sri Lankan bowlers.

Jasprit Bumrah becomes highest Indian wicket-taker
Jasprit Bumrah struck in the first over as he accounted for Gunathilaka, who became his 53rd scalp, the most for an Indian in T20Is. He followed it up with a maiden over, displaying his authority over the opposition.

Dhananjaya de Silva and Angelo Mathews try to turn the tables
After being reduced to 26/4, Dhanajaya de Silva and Angelo Mathews combined for a brilliant partnership. They put up 68 runs off just 37 balls for the fifth wicket. However once Mathews lost his wicket, Sri Lanka failed to pose any kind of threat to the Indian bowlers.

Another clinical performance by Indian pacers
While Bumrah was at his splendid best, bowling a maiden, Shardul Thakur followed up his 22* (8) with a couple of wickets. Navdeep Saini was stupendous with the ball as he picked up three wickets.
