INDvWI, 2nd Test - Series SEALED AND DELIVERED
Another game. Another triumph. Another statement made. 🔥
Team India wrapped up the Delhi Test <and the series>, stamping their authority over the West Indies with a great performance in the second Test match.
YBJ’s terrific daddy hundred & Shubman’s ton set the tone, whereas Campbell and Hope’s splendid knocks spared Windies’ blushes. Let’s have a sneak peek at the action, one day at a time!
Day 1 | Yashasvi’s Delhi Darbar
The way Jaisu went about his innings, it really looked as if he was actually playing gully cricket. 😉
The youngster turned the Kotla into his personal playground, smashing an unbeaten 173 that had the crowd chanting his name all day long.
Partner-in-crime Sai Sudharsan played the perfect supporting act, crafting a superb 87 as the duo built India’s fortress brick by brick. By stumps, the scoreboard read domination in bold - India completely in the driver’s seat, West Indies left searching for answers.
📝 Stumps, Day 1: India - 318/2 (90 overs)
Day 2 | Gill mode ON
When Jaiswal fell early, West Indies hoped for a breather… but skipper Shubman Gill had other plans. Calm, composed and classy; he hammered an unbeaten 129 before declaring at a towering 518/5.
India’s bowlers then took over the script as Ravindra Jadeja spun a web around the visitors with three wickets, leaving them tottering by the end of the day.
📝 Stumps, Day 2: West Indies - 140/4 (43 overs) trail by 378 runs
Day 3 | Follow-on & Windies’ fightback
Well, the morning session belonged to Kuldeep Yadav through & through.
The left-arm spinner bagged a five-fer as the opposition’s scorecard halted at 248/10 shortly after Lunch.

Conceding a follow-on, it was arguably their final shot at recovery and they didn’t bow down. Opener John Campbell and Shai Hope remained unbeaten at 87 and 66, respectively, to lead the revival.
By the end of the day’s play, India’s lead was cut short to 97 runs.
📝 Stumps, Day 3: West Indies - 173/2 (49 overs) trail by 97 runs – Follow-on
Day 4 | Visitors’ fightback pt. 2
Windies’ attempt to salvage something out of this contest continued the following day.
Both Campbell and Hope, who were unbeaten overnight, completed their respective centuries, helping West Indies get the much-needed lead. 👏
A 79-run last wicket partnership between Jayden Seales & Justin Greaves extended the lead, setting a 121-run target for the home side.
In the final lap, our batters looked in cruise control mode, within touching distance of a win!
📝 Stumps, Day 4: India - 63/1 (18 overs) need 58 runs to win
Day 5 | Game. Set. SERIES
With 58 runs needed and nine wickets in hand, it was only a matter of time before the inevitable.
