INDvSA, 5th T20I: HP’s batting blitz, Boom's bowling brilliance help India seal yet another T20I series
India signed off the T20I series in emphatic fashion, beating South Africa by 30 runs in the fifth and final T20I.
Here’s how a thrilling night unfolded 👇
Openers set the tempo early
Asked to bat first, India’s openers wasted no time in getting going. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma came out firing, stitching together a brisk 63-run stand that put the Proteas on the back foot early.
South Africa did manage to pull things back with regular wickets through the middle overs, briefly halting India’s momentum and keeping the contest alive.

Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma turned the tide with a breathtaking 105-run partnership off just 44 deliveries. Hardik led the charge, smashing 63 off only 25 balls, laced with five fours and five towering sixes. The knock also saw him register the second-fastest fifty by an Indian in T20Is. Tilak supported and anchored with a 42-ball 73.
The explosive finish powered India to a formidable 231/5 at the end of 20 overs.
Boom Boom breaks the chase 💥
Quinton de Kock began the chase with authority, scoring a fluent 65 to keep South Africa well in the hunt.
But once Boom Boom found his rhythm, the game changed in a flash. 💥 Jasprit Bumrah sparked a dramatic collapse, as South Africa slipped from 120/1 to 135/5 in no time. Bumrah himself finished with 2/17 in 4 overs.
Despite a late fightback, the visitors were unable to bridge the gap and eventually fell short by 30 runs as India sealed the series 3-1. 🇮🇳👊
Brief Scores: India 231/5 (Tilak Varma 73, Corbin Bosch 2/44) beat South Africa 201/8 (Quinton de Kock 65, Varun Chakaravarthy 4/53) by 30 runs.
