In the Coach Cam episode, James Pamment asserted that while it was a disappointing loss, the game against RCB was a confidence booster for the side.

The fielding coach spoke to MITV and praised Ishan Kishan who kept MI going till the end in what was his first game of the tournament. The young batsman scored a magnificent 99 (58) to pave the way for a Super Over.

Here are the excerpts from what Pamment had to say after the match:

If you take the game deep, you always got a chance to win

"It was an absolute thriller at the end of the day. I’m sure the supporters at home, like us, are all very disappointed but they have seen a thrilling game. It just shows you that in IPL, if you keep taking it as deep as you can, you have always got a chance to win."

We saw something incredible by Polly and Ishan

"I think we saw something incredible by Polly and Ishan over the last five overs there to give us a chance. When you get to the super over, you know you think you’re back in the game. You think you are going to take some ascendancy with you but unfortunate that they were just a little bit better than us in that final super over."

Ishan had the ball to win the game for us

"For somebody who's playing his first game of the session, to step out and almost score a century under those conditions. When we were obviously in trouble and against the run of play, for him to grab some momentum and keep going. I know Ishan is feeling disappointed that  he had the ball to win the game for us."

The more the guys play, the better they are gonna get

"Teams are just stacked full of quality performers and it's only gonna get better because you know guys haven’t played a lot of cricket leading into this tournament. So the more they play, the better they are gonna get and I think there are going to be some incredible games. The wickets are helping and outstanding, so we never felt that we were out of the game today."

We have got the firepower to win the game from any position

"Given the firepower that we got and while it was a massive ask, we proved that we have got the firepower to win a game from any position and while we don’t wanna be in that position too often we want to be in the ascendancy. You know while we are very disappointed to lose, it also gives us some confidence that we have got some good players in our group."
