MI Junior 2024: Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School, National English School script emphatic wins

Centuries by Abdur Rahman Khan (142 off 67) and Vedant Ganesh Gore (100* off 48) fired Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School (CSMT) to a mammoth 341-run win over New Horizon Public School (Airoli) in an MI Junior Boys’ Under-14 super knockout (round of 32) match in Mumbai on Monday.

Riding on centuries by Abdur and Vedant, Anjuman put up an impressive total of 368/5 in 40 overs, before bowling out New Horizon for 27 runs.

In another super knockout clash, Ayushmaan Yadav (4-1) and Veer Shinde (4-3) ran through the St. Mary's High School SSC (Mazgaon) batting, bundling them out for just 21. In response, National English School (Virar) strolled to victory in 1.3 overs.

In another match in the same category, Dr. Antonio D’Silva School (Dadar) secured a close 30-run win against All Saints High School (Bhiwandi).

Batting first, Antonio D’Silva could only manage 124 runs before being bowled out. Defending a small target, Rudra Patkar (4 for 16) then rose to the occasion to dismiss All Saints High School for 94 runs.

Meanwhile, GES (Chembur) sailed to a dominant 80-run win over Al-Barkaat Malik Muhammad Islam English School (Kurla) in another Boys’ Under-14 super knockout game.

Half-centuries by Aayush Shinde (65* off 54) and Shardul Fagare (56 and 79) propelled GES to 223/8 in 40 overs before Al-Barkaat were dismissed for 143 runs, thanks to a brilliant spell by Sumedh Desai (3 for 29).
