MI Junior 2026: Akanksha Bari Scalps 7-Wicket Haul to Propel South Public School to Colossal 10-Wicket Triumph

The South Public School dominated proceedings to register a bolstering 10-wicket victory over Delhi Public School in a league match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Girls Under-15 Inter School Cricket Tournament 2026.

After winning the toss South Public School elected to bowl first, a decision that worked wonders due to Akanksha Bari's impeccable bowling. In the 3rd over of innings which yielded 0 runs, Akanksha dismissed four batters primarily by rattling their stumps and trapping them Leg Before Wicket (LBW). Akanksha Bari went on to pick up a clinical and immaculate 7-wicket haul as her exceptional bowling ensured that Delhi Public School was bundled out for just 64 runs.

It seemed as if it was Akanksha Bari’s day as she backed up her 7 wickets with an unbeaten, top-scoring knock of 29 runs to guide The South Public School to a dominant win, chasing the target of 65 within 5 overs with 10 wickets in hand.  

In the Boys Under-14 category, The Royal Gondwana Public School annihilated Centre Point School to record a formidable 224-run victory.

Batting first, Pranjal Choudhary’s scintillating and sensational century worth 184 runs alongside handy contributions from Pratheek Naik Jatoth (52) and Aryan Nishad (44) propelled The Royal Gondwana Public School to a monstrous total of 377 runs.

Anay Sarda’s resilient half-century came in a losing cause as Centre Point School could only amass 153 runs in their stipulated 40 overs as Om Daharwal’s 3 for 29 sealed a voracious win for The Royal Gondwana Public School.

Delhi Public School outclassed Snehal Public School to register a monumental 10-wicket victory. After being put into bat, Snehal Public School were bowled out for just 98 runs as the trio of Manav Kewalramani (4/12), Ranveer Gomekar (3/17) and Maan Dembra 3/35) struck at regular intervals. Opener Owais Musa then led from the front with a stellar unbeaten half-century to power Delhi Public School to a commanding win with 10 wickets in hand.

The Royal Gondwana Public School bossed Centre Point School to register an annihilating 224-run victory. In the first innings, The Royal Gondwana Public School posted a daunting total of 377 runs, riding on the back of Pranjal Choudary’s flamboyant century worth 184 runs. In response, Centre Point School could only salvage 153 runs in their allotted 40 overs as Anay Sarda’s half-century came as some consolation. Centre Point School decimated School of Scholars to register a commanding 9-wicket victory. In the first innings, the duo of Veer Mulchandani and Faizan Syed ran rampant as both of them went on the pick up 5-wicket hauls, bowling School of Scholars out for just 36 runs. With just 37 runs required, Centre Point School made a mockery of the target, chasing it down inside 3 overs with 9 wickets in hand.

  1. Shri Rajendra High School vs St. Joseph Convent High School

Shri Rajendra High School eased past St. Joseph Convent High School with a domineering margin of 10 wickets. After being put into bat, St. Joseph Convent High School failed to get the momentum going as they were only able to salvage 68 runs in their allotted 20 overs as Vidhi Karnik top-scored with a resilient 38. Chasing a total of 69 runs, Gunjan Taywade (33 n.o) and Mihika Agashe (25 n.o) guided Shri Rajendra High School to a comprehensive 10-wicket win.

The South Public School bullied Delhi Public School to record a pulverising 10-wicket victory. In the first innings, Akanksha Bari put on an exhibition of clinical bowling as she scalped 7 wickets, leading to Delhi Public School being bowled out for just 64 runs. With just 65 runs required, Akanksha Bari starred with bat as well, top-scoring with an unbeaten innings of 29, guiding The South Public School to a towering 10-wicket win.
