MI Junior: Angel Mickey, Sinhgad reach U-14 final

Angel Mickey Minie School (Hadapsar) and Sinhgad City School (Kondhwa) advanced to the finals of the MI Junior Inter-School Cricket Tournament in the U-14 category, defeating Dr. G.G.Shah High School (Kasbapeth) and The Kalyani School (Hadapsar Manjari) respectively on Monday.

Angel Mickey School’s victory was far more dominant in nature, cruising to a thumping 263-run win against Dr. G.G.Shah High School.

Yohan Bire (70 off 54), Aditya Gikwad (66 off 46) and Avishkar Bobde (50* off 23) chipped in with half-centuries to lead Angel Mickey School to a mammoth 344 in 40 overs.

In reply, the Dr. G.G.Shah High School batters fell like 9 pins, and were bowled out for just 81 runs.

Meanwhile, Sinhgad City School advanced to the final in a relatively tighter game, defeating The Kalyani School by 68 runs.

Shivratna Suryawanshi’s brisk 76 was pivotal in getting the Singhad total to a respectable 207 runs in 40 overs.

Siddharth Dangi (5 for 43) then starred with the ball for Singhad, dismantling the Kalyani School batting for 139.
