
MI Junior: Addhyan, Krishna, Kush and others shine for their teams in Nagpur leg

Addhyan Rauthan, Krishna Adlakhia, Kush Sharma and others produced match-winning performances for their respective teams in the Nagpur leg of the ongoing MI junior inter-school cricket tournament on Friday.
A scintillating knock by Addhyan Rauthan (188 off 99) powered Centre Point School (Dabha) to a massive 269 run victory against Somalwar High School (Nikalas Branch) in an MI Junior Boys’ U-16 match in Nagpur.
Centre Point School were in big trouble at one stage, losing three wickets for just 45 runs, before Addhyan played a blinder of an innings under pressure to lead them to a total of 340 runs in 40 overs.
In reply, Somalwar School’s run-chase never got going and they were skittled out for a paltry 71, with Raj Kapse claiming 4-5.
In another under 16 game, left-arm spinner Krishna Adlakhia (5-2) decimated Tip Top Convent School’s batting to hand Bhavans B.P. Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar a comfortable 10-wicket victory. Bhavans B.P. Vidya Mandir chased down the negligible target of 42 in just 6.2 overs, without losing any wicket.
Meanwhile, the knockout rounds kicked off in Nagpur, with the quarter-final matches taking place for the under 14 category.
Kush Sharma's all-round heroics led Centre Point School, Wardhman Nagar to a crushing 8-wicket victory against Podar International School, Besa in an U-14 quarter-final game. Kush’s outstanding 5-wicket haul restricted Podar to just 92 runs. Centre Point then chased down the target in 10.3 overs, thanks to Kush’s unbeaten 38.
In another U-14 quarter-final, Siddhesh Rtnaparkhi ran riot against Narayana Vidyalayam, Koradi, taking an outstanding 6-wicket haul (6-4, including a hat-trick), to bowl them out for a measly 8 runs.
Batting first, Somalwar High School,Ramdaspeth racked up a brilliant total of 341 in 40 overs thanks to Krishna Saratkar’s knock of 103. Siddesh then worked his magic with the ball, with Krishna doing the damage from the other end (4-3) to give Somalwar High School a massive 333-run victory.
On the other hand, Mayur Sharma's superb bowling performance 4-16 helped Aspire International School, Wardha Road beat SARASWATI VIDYALAYA HIGH SCHOOL, SHANKAR NAGAR by 73 runs in another U-14 match. Kashyap Patarkar's crucial 67 took Aspire International team to 222/6 and SARASWATI VIDYALAYA were bowled for 149 runs in the run chase.
Chasing a target of 229 run for victory, Bhavik Thengre hit an unbeaten fifty to guide The South Public School, Omkar Nagar to five-wicket win over Centre Point School, Wardhman Nagar in a Boy's U-16 match. The likes of Ram Anantwar (2-33) and Bhavik Thengre (2-42) were the best bowlers for The South Public School.
In another Boy's U-14 match, Krish Sonkusare all-round performance (64 and 5-48) led Shri Rajendra High School, Kothi Road to 41-run win over KURVEYS NEW MODEL PUBLIC SCHOOL, LAXMINAGAR.
