Rizvi Springfield youngsters reign supreme

Rizvi Springfield High School, Bandra strengthened their hold on inter-school cricket by emerging champions in the Mumbai leg of Mumbai Indians Junior 2020 cricket tournament. The Bandra-based school beat Al Barkaat Malik English School by five wickets in the final on Saturday.

In-form batsman Awais Khan led the charge for Rizvi again as he scored 73 runs off 85 balls to help them chase down a target of 159 easily in 36.5 overs. Roshan Kanojia built on Awais Khan's lone hand to score an unbeaten 29 and help Rizvi finish the match on a high with 19 balls to spare.

Earlier, Rizvi bowlers came up with a brilliant bowling display to tangle the Al-Barkaat batsmen and bowl them out for 158/10 in 39.1 overs.

Rizvi Springfield High School emerged as champions at MI Junior for the second consecutive time.
