Countdown to CWC 2023: Three ODIs vs WI to iron out our chinks

By Mumbai Indians

Time for a change of scenery. White, out. Blue, in. Everything in life now, is just a run-up to October.

For starters, India will be the outright favourites. Why? Because we have won the last 12 bilateral ODI series between the nations since 2007. Do-MI-nance to the T. The MI Trinity - Ro-Hit Sharma, Aapla Dada Surya and pocket dynamo Ishan - will be seen in action together for the first time since the home ODIs against New Zealand. Paltan, you cannot stay calm!

West Indies have nothing to lose. Having gotten knocked out in the World Cup Qualifiers, they’re just playing for pride. And spoiling parties could just be a part of that pride.

What: West Indies vs India, three-match ODI series

When: 1st ODI - July 27; 2nd ODI - July 29; 3rd ODI - August 1

Where: 1st ODI and 2nd ODI - Kensington Oval, Bridgetown; 3rd ODI - Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba

What to expect: Barbados historically has been the bounciest track in the Caribbean. So expect a nice welcome change from the slow turners that were dished out during the Tests. Also, although most spots for the World Cup squad are more or less certain, expect everybody to step on the gas and push to get through the door.

What you need to do: Maintain the same levels of support, love, and war cries that you showcased in the Test series for Rohit and his army. Let’s engulf the ODI venues into our sea of Blue amidst the rain showers, shall we, Paltan?
