Paltannnn, there’s just too much happening in the world of women’s sport. Let’s dig right in ..

Pooja-Harman inspire India's winning start against Bangladesh

India's doMInant performance halted Bangladesh's cruising start, courtesy of a collective bowling effort led by our very own Pooja. The hosts were restricted to a paltry total of 114. India's response was led by Smriti Mandhana's impressive 38 runs, setting the tone for the chase. Kaptaan Kaur finished the game in style, reaching her fifty with a maximum and sealing the victory with a boundary.

While Amanjot had an off-day, Vastrakar shone brightly, leading the bowling charts with impressive figures of 1/16 (4) and contributing with a crucial run-out, much like our captain. On the batting front, Yastika (9*) didn't have much to do as Harmanpreet's scintillating 54* off 35 balls propelled India to a commanding seven-wicket victory.

Nat's back to full fitness!

The biggest news of the week is that of our superstar Nat Sciver-Brunt, who was nursing a knee inflammation, has now made a speedy comeback to bowling. While Nat faced a challenging outing in the 2nd T20I, she bounced back in style during the 3rd T20I, leading the wickets list with two crucial dismissals (2/31 off 4), thereby playing a pivotal role in restricting Australia to 155 and then contributed with a run-a-ball 25. Although she missed out on converting it into a substantial score like she usually does, it is clear that she is approaching her best form ahead of the upcoming ODIs, a format she's bossed for years.

Hayley doing Hayley things

Without a shadow of a doubt, we declare that Matthews is more than an MVP, and you will undoubtedly agree once you read about the stellar series she has had against Ireland. Not only were her ODI numbers exceptional, but she further enhanced her reputation by scoring an impressive 135 runs and taking 8 wickets in just 3 innings. Her T20I performance also sets her apart as the first woman to achieve the remarkable feat of scoring over 100 runs and taking 6+ wickets in a 3-game bilateral series. Unmatched supremacy!

Melie all-round magic spurs New Zealand to success

Confident after a commanding 2-0 One-Day International (ODI) series win, Sri Lanka faced a setback in the T20I opener. Our 'chota pack double dhamaka player,' Melie Kerr, emerged as the star performer for New Zealand, leading the wickets chart with figures of 2/19 (4), and not stopping there, with the bat, anchored the innings, scoring 34 runs off 28 balls. Her remarkable all-round contribution proved instrumental in the team's thrilling 5-wicket victory.

Issy Wong-the all-rounder era

The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy is back and so is Issy Wong to her best! Wong unleashed a solid 50 off 49 balls, contributing to Central Sparks' imposing total of 246. She followed it up with two crucial wickets, fortifying Sparks in bowling out SouthEast Stars for 225 and securing a thrilling 21-run victory. The exciting bit of it all, with the Ashes ODI series just around the corner, Wong certainly has put forward her case for a place in the XI!
