WPL weekly star-tracker (Oct 16): Amelia, Chloe shine against each other

By Mumbai Indians

New Zealand and South Africa are battling it out in a tense series. Australia are, as usual, trouncing teams. The WBBL is here. Oh there’s plenty we have lined up for you. Read on ..

Mumbai-Kerr hits form, and how!

Remember how we were sure Melie Kerr would turn things around after a two-game dry run. Well, it’s a turnaround and a half! 70(46) and 61(47) in consecutive games, and a Player of the Series to cap it off against the South Africans.

Chloe’s 22(10) in vain in front of Amelia storm

In the fourth T20I, with South Africa batting first, Chloe Tryon walked in with four overs to spare, got ten balls out of those, and smashed two fours and a six in her 22*. In the fifth game, she once again came in at the death for a run-a-ball 9, chipped in with three neat overs for 24, and played a key role in choking NZ in the chase and drawing the series.

Hayley returns, alas, without her T20I thunder

Eight consecutive POTMs have totally spoilt us! Coming back an injury that forced her to sit out of the first ODI, she chipped in with a 20-ball 20 and got her side off to a good start against the Aussies. Her dismissal brought about a collapse, but the Windies were saved by rain. In the next game though, she started quicker, with three fours in a 17-ball 23, but again, her dismissal triggered another downfall, this time without any rain to save them the blushes.
