Match preview, LSG vs MI: Back at Wankhede with renewed vigour!

It’s going to be a special eighth match of the season for us against Lucknow Super Giants as we take them on at the Wankhede stadium, our home ground, on April 24th.

It is set to be an enthralling encounter as we will play at the Wankhede after 1083 days! The last match we played there was on May 5, 2019 against KKR in the 2019 season, where we went on to lift the trophy.

The occasion is also the birthday of our mentor Sachin Tendulkar, so this LSG clash will be memorable in more ways than one.

It would be perfect if we could notch our first win of Tata IPL 2022 here!

Players to watch out for

LSG skipper KL Rahul hit a century against us in our clash earlier this season and is a dangerous batter.

Krunal Pandya hit an explosive 42 and had figures of 1/29 in four overs in LSG’s previous match vs RCB and having played for us before, he is familiar with the Wankhede stadium.

For us, young Tilak Varma hit a fighting half-century in the previous match while Daniel Sams, Hrithik Shokeen, Riley Meredith and Boom all had good showings with the ball.

SKY has been in scintillating form all season, including two fifties, which have helped generate momentum for us.

Upcoming milestones

Skipper Rohit Sharma needs 49 more runs to complete 2000 T20 runs at the Wankhede stadium.

Ro also needs just two more big hits to complete 200 sixes for MI.

Back at home on Sachin’s birthday and with a fighting performance behind us, the stage is all set for a thrilling encounter.

Let’s ensure we cheer our loudest, Paltan!
