Paltan, you have been an incredible support system to the boys in Blue and Gold, and this win is FOR YOU.
Pheww! It will take some time to believe how we won this match. But, on the whole, what does this mean? WE ARE BACK TO WINNING WAYS. And we are back on our march to move into the top four.
What an incredible game of cricket that went to the wire. Suryakumar Yadav (78), Rohit Sharma (36) and Tilak Varma (34) catapulted Mumbai to post a challenging total of 192/7. Then came the bowlers and instantly made the PBKS cave in, reducing the hosts to 77/6 in 9.2 overs. A late fightback from Ashutosh Sharma (61 off 28 balls) resusciated Punjab back into the chase and got them almost knocking on the door of an unlikely win. But, Gerald Coetzee, captain Hardik and Akash Madhwal stopped PBKS in their tracks to defend 192 in the final over. Defeat was almost upon us, but the MUM-Boys' MI Mentality helped turned the situation around and seal a nine-run win.

11:37 PM: A RUN-OUT AND MI WIN A THRILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!
11:36 PM: THE FINAL OVER. Punjab need 12 runs to win. We need one wicket. Let's go..
11:26 PM: Two overs remain. The tension is building! Captain Pandya is here to bowl, he has 22 runs to defend. Oh, and tell you what, he has a wicket!! The last recognized batter, Harpreet Brar, is foxed. We can smell the victory, Paltan!
11:21 PM: You prayed! Coetzee ANSWERED! Short of length outside off, Ashutosh Sharma goes for the pull towards deep mid-wicket. But Mohammad Nabi awaits and the threat of Ashutosh is SUBDUED.
11:14 PM: Fingers crossed! We need a miracle right now...
10:33 PM: PBKS are down to 77/6, with the IMPACT PLAYER Akash Madhwal getting his first scalp of the game. Full toss >> hits Jitesh Sharma's front pad >> Umpire's call >> WICKET.
10:30 PM: *Manifesting another wicket*
10:15 PM: Shreyas Gopal joins the wicket hunt. The MI spin star bowls a googly on a length that tricked Harpreet Singh Bhatia to attempt to punch it over long-on. In the end, the PBKS batter ended in chipping it straight towards Gopal.

9:52 PM: Our 'Karate Kid' gets his second of the evening. Sam Livingstone was undone by Gerald Coetzee's pace, as the former's miscued pull shot attempt lobbed straight into the hands of Coetzee.
9:49 PM: And he adds another to his bag. A sneaky delivery takes an edge off Sam Curran's bat and sails to Ishan Kishan. And to Curran's frustration, the third umpire comfirms the dismissal.
9:47 PM: THAT SWEET SOUND OF A BUMRAH DELIVERY CRASHING THE STUMPS! Boom Boom you beauty. The pacer mixed pace, swing and the intent of breaking the stumps to dislodge Rilee Rossouw's wicket.
9:41 PM: 4, 5wd, 1 and then a WICKET! Gerald Coetzee knows how to make a COMEBACK. Coetzee's delivery short and down leg side took a faint edge and flew straight to Ishan Kishan. Kishan, in tun, didn't miss out on doing what he does - take a brilliant diving catch.
9:39 PM: A change before we begin proceedings: Suryakumar Yadav steps out and Akash Madhwal comes in as the IMPACT PLAYER.
9:30 PM: Now the MI boys will step out after a short break to defend 192. Paltan, keep pouring your love and support in the comments for our bowling unit to grab early wickets in the second innings.
9:25 PM: END OF INNINGS! A committed outburst by Tilak Varma (34* off 18 balls) and Tim David (7-ball 14) set the tone for MI to finish with a score of 192/7 in 20 overs.
9:07 PM: MILESTONE UNLOCKED! Tilak Varma becomes the quickest to 50 SIXES FOR MI.
8:59 PM: Alas! SKY's livewire innings was brought to a halt as he tried to lift a wide-yorker delivery over cover-point, but PBKS' Prabhsimran took a leap and completed a double-handed catch. He finishes at 78 off 53 balls.
8:55 PM: Aapla Dada Surya is on a ROLL!!!!!!!
8:30 PM: Rohit's confident start comes to an end. The Hitman tried to smash it down straight but Sam Curran's delivery sliced his bat to go towards backward point, where Harpreet Brar completed the catch. Furthermore, he departed having added another record to his cabinet - the most sixes by an Mumbai Indians batter in the IPL (224).
